Exercit Ex Occulto

The Latin word on which the word occult is based is occultare, meaning to "hide or to deceive; conceal" according to the New College Latin and English Dictionary published by Bantam. Why then has the word occult been semantically related to uncovering that which is esoteric? Because a real occultist is one who inverts every truth as he sees it so as to obscure his angle. In reality the word "occult" represents the practice of concealing that which is secular, real, knowable.

What does this have to do with anything you might ask? This has everything to do with everything. If you don't understand the various arts of deception that have become the common currency that grants some players an endless access to the vast resources of our world, you are lost indeed. This site is dedicated to the deconstruction of the whole funhouse. Nothing is sacred. No enemy is too foreboding to discover; no crypt too looming to decipher.

So have fun. I'll see you in a time in the not-so-distant future when we will see every facet of human interaction, economic, political, social or otherwise, clearly and without the muddying effects of the myriad of common belief and ritual.

Excellent post over at RI, as this is an important theme. Many people seem to be providing free ad copy to sick PR machines.

Hey Sounder,

I don't know what you look like!?!?

But...

You said:

Yeah, read my next post. It goes on at length about just what you see as well apparently.

Of course this kind of discourse begs for the critics to ask doubtfully (as if they know the answer already), "You have plenty of criticism but what do you propose as a solution?"
Well, in the style of a good activist drone who cowtows to the status quo I ask them the rhetorical question, "what did Thoreau propose for a solution?"

I ask you now, Sounder, what do you propose as a solution because I am, for one, running out of ideas. I feel like one of those confused, angry desperados in George Romero zombie movies who didn't prepare a contingency plan until it was too late. I am wondering if I will be eaten by the zombies first or the uncaring "elites" who are hogging all the shelters. Again, what do you propose we, the enlightened (at least to the point of knowing we don't know) ones, do?
